Membership at Hollow Brook Golf Club

The ever-changing landscape of the private golf club industry has brought some recent changes to where you will be playing golf during the 2019 golf season. We are aware that you have many options but we would like you to consider Hollow Brook for your private club. If you are not aware, we are currently offering a dues reduction for any returning golf members. Please contact Eugene Peterson for details.
Over the past few seasons we completed our bunker renovation. We also hired a new golf course superintendent in September of 2017. Chris Smith comes with an impressive resume that incudes Hudson National Golf Club and Minisceongo Golf Club. In the short time that he has been with our team he has made an immediate impact to the condition of the golf course and his attention to detail will set Hollow Brook apart. The management team at Hollow Brook is committed to the day to day operations of the Club and keeping the golf course up to the standards of both the high and low handicap player.
Our unique affiliation continues with New Jersey National, Pine Barrens Country Club and Twisted Dunes (reduced greens fees at Twisted Dunes) which allows our members to play a variety of courses throughout the year.
If you would like to be reintroduced to our fine facility, please contact Eugene Peterson, our General Manager, at (914) 734-1500 Ext. 1113 and he will be happy to discuss the opportunities that are available to you as a former member.

Members are responsible for informing their guests of our guidelines and ensuring that each is adhered to.

All members are required to check in with the front desk or the pro shop prior to play, and must check in their guest(s), if any, as well.

Appropriate attire is required. It is the responsibility of the members to inform their guests, prior to visiting the club, of the dress code policy. Should a member hold or sponsor an event, it is the member’s responsibility to notify guests, entertainment, photographer, volunteers, etc. of this policy.
Men’s Golf Attire includes slacks, walking or Bermuda shorts and collared shirts, turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks with a neck length of 1 1⁄2" or longer. Shorts must be mid-thigh length or longer. Shirt tails must be tucked in at all times. Caps and hats are prohibited from being worn inside the clubhouse except for in the grille room, where, although the club prefers otherwise, hats or caps may be worn.
Women’s Golf Attire includes slacks, walking or Bermuda shorts, skirts, collared and/or sleeved shirts, turtlenecks and mock turtlenecks with a neck length of 1 1⁄2" or longer. Shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh length or longer.
Inappropriate attire includes shorts and skirts that are shorter than mid-thigh length, sweat pants, cargo pants and shorts, tank tops, T-shirts, swimming or tennis attire and jeans. The club reserves the right to decide what is appropriate attire, in its sole discretion.

Practice Areas

The practice range will be open on all days when the course is open. Range ball fees are included in the club’s annual billing.

USGA Rules apply. All tournament contestants have an obligation to learn, understand and play within USGA Rules of Golf.

GHIN Handicap System

Our handicap computer allows our Members to take full advantage of the GHIN. In order to properly maintain a USGA handicap, players are asked to adjust actual scores using these guidelines:
Handicap Maximum Score
9 & under Double Bogey
10 to 19 7
20 to 29 8
30 to 39 9

Cell Phones

Although cell phones have become a common communications device, usage is restricted on the golf course and in the clubhouse, except in the case of an emergency or in designated areas.
Clubhouse: Approved locations include the conference room, offices, computer room, cart staging area, pavilion and in the parking lot. Members will be held responsible for their guests’ cell phone usage. Please be courteous of your fellow members and keep calls to a minimum.
Cell phones are prohibited inside all areas of the locker room.
Golf Course: If you must place or receive a phone call on the golf course, you may do so from the cart on the way to your ball, on the tee box or behind the green after putting out. Playing partners and other golfers should be unaware of the call, and it should not slow up play. If necessary, skip the hole.
The General Manager and clubhouse staff have the authority to enforce this policy.
Violations of this policy will be brought to the attention of the General Manager and a warning may be issued. A second violation may result in the suspension of playing privileges for a period of time to be determined.
Cell phones used at Hollow Brook Golf Club must be on vibrate and not have an audible ring.

In large part, the success of our continued membership growth depends upon our members and your willingness to help. While great golf comes first, it is the cohesiveness of our membership that makes Hollow Brook truly remarkable. By referring your friends, family and associates to Hollow Brook Golf Club you will help expand the club with people you already know, thereby enhancing the camaraderie and fellowship of all. Through your recommendations, you will intensify Member pride by spreading the great word about our esteemed golf club. Our membership department is always available to help answer questions and to arrange for tours.

Alcohol Consumption & Purchases

The club’s liquor license is issued under the jurisdiction of the New York State Liquor Authority. This does not allow for the sale of alcohol to anyone under the age of twenty-one (21). Legal identification of age must be presented upon request. This ruling is strictly enforced. Staff is required to check for proper identification.
Alcohol purchases are for consumption on Club grounds only. Alcohol is not to be transported onto or off Club grounds by members, their families or their guests.
It is the responsibility of the staff to deny alcoholic beverages to anyone who appears intoxicated.
An intoxicated person is not permitted to operate a vehicle upon leaving Club grounds. If necessary, the Club will arrange an alternate form of transportation. The General Manager and the staff are authorized to strictly enforce this policy.
The management is sincerely concerned with the safety of all members, their families and their guests. Time spent at the club should be enjoyable. We would also like to fulfill our responsibilities as members of the community.

Smoking is NOT PERMITTED inside any part of any clubhouse, or any covered outside area of the clubhouse. This includes the entire clubhouse, all covered patios, the pro shop/bag storage room and the maintenance buildings. Smoking is allowed on the lower patio and in the cigar area located at the end of the veranda by the Pavilion.

Pace of Play

In order for everyone to enjoy playing golf at Hollow Brook, we remind you of two traditional elements of proper golf etiquette:
  1. Please always play without delay;
  2. When there is a clear hole ahead, invite properly constituted matches through.

Slow play will not be tolerated. Four hours and fifteen minutes is the acceptable pace of play for a four-ball. Our golf staff will monitor the pace of play.

Care of the Golf Course

We at Hollow Brook are fortunate to have a beautiful golf course that is consistently in excellent condition. To help our greens crew maintain the course, please make sure that:
  1. When taking practice swings take care not to make a divot. If a divot is made on the tee box, fill the divot with the soil and sand mix available on each tee. Always replace the divots in both the fairway and rough;
  2. Repair ball marks on the greens;
  3. Drive carts only where allowed and never within 20 yards of a green. Carts should be driven in the rough or on the paths using a 90-degree angle to go into or across the fairway;
  4. Make sure not to damage the area around the edge of the hole when removing a flag from the cup or replacing it;
  5. Always rake the sand in the bunkers;
  6. Encourage other players in your group to observe these rules.
